The Kano State Hisbah Board says it arrested more than 600 people during the recent Sallah festivities across Kano for various offences, while also reuniting dozens of missing children with their families.Deputy Commander General of the board, Dr Mujahiddin Aminuddin, said the arrests were part of efforts to maintain morality and cultural values during the celebrations. He disclosed that over 9,500 operatives were deployed across the state to monitor activities.According to him, those arrested included 275 youths for indecent barbing, 85 tricycle drivers for carrying female passengers beside them, 21 individuals for wearing short knickers, and 286 women for indecent dressing. He added: A local government chairman was also picked up in a hotel with children without parental consent, we later called all their parents and reunited them and later released them.Other cases, he said, involved a husband and wife accused of violent thuggery, a youth allegedly providing lodges for adultery and sodomy, a trader said to be keeping weapons for thugs, and a sorcerer accused of marrying off a woman without her familys approval.Dr Aminuddin also confirmed that the board reunited 66 missing children with their parents and dispersed youths attempting to organise a party in Sabon Gari.He emphasised that the festive period should reflect religious values, stating: All these things are against our culture and tradition. We warn event centre proprietors not to host activities that go against our values, because Hisbah will not allow it. People should also help us by reporting wrongdoing so we can sanitize Kano. The post Kano Hisbah arrests over 600 for indecent dressing and others appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
