Honorable Idris Dankawu, the House of Representatives member representing Kumbotso Federal Constituency, has officially resigned from the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP.
In a formal resignation letter addressed to the party’s national leadership on Friday, Dankawu cited ongoing internal crises and leadership confusion at the ward, local government, state, and national levels as the reason for his departure.
“My resignation is as a result of the ongoing internal party crisis and confusion besetting the party leadership structures,” he stated.
“Consequently, I have no option but to quit my membership in the overall interest of my constituents in Kumbotso and seek a new platform that will enable me to continue my legislative duties effectively,” he added.
Hon. Dankawu, who serves as the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Drugs and Narcotics, wished the NNPP leadership success in its future endeavors.
DAILY POST recalls that Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, the member representing Tofa/Dawakin Tofa/Rimin Gado Federal Constituency, also recently resigned from the NNPP.
This development comes shortly after the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, officially left the party.
