Katsina govt declares public holiday to mourn former president Buhari

The Katsina State Government has declared Monday, July 14 public holiday to mourn an illustrious son of the land, Muhammadu Buhari.

The Secretary to the Government of Katsina State, Abdullahi Garba Faskari made the announcement in a statement on Sunday night.

The government explained that the holiday would allow workers and residents of the state to mourn and pray for the late leader.

DAILY POST reports that Buhari died on Sunday in London after a brief battle with an undisclosed ailment.

As directed by President Bola Tinubu, the Vice President, Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja to London to accompany the remains of the ex-president back to Nigeria.

His body is expected to be laid to rest in Daura today according to Islamic rites.
