The Secretary of Kibiya Local Government Area in Kano State, Alhaji Hamza Musa Durba, was on Friday night abducted by unknown gunmen.
About six armed assailants reportedly invaded the residence of Hamza Musa Durba in Dinya town, within Durba Ward of Kibiya LGA, late on Friday night.
Confirming the incident, security sources said the attackers arrived on motorcycles, heavily armed, but did not fire any shots during the operation.
A security official in the area confirmed the abduction, stating that the gunmen executed the operation swiftly and with precision, gaining access to the residence without attracting attention.
He further explained, “Members of the victim’s family present during the attack were left unharmed as the assailants focused solely on abducting their target.”
Residents described the incident as alarming and unusual, particularly due to the absence of gunfire, expressing concern over the increasing boldness of criminal elements in rural communities across the state.
Security agencies have since been alerted and have launched a coordinated search operation to rescue the victim and apprehend the perpetrators.
