
The former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has expressed condolences over the passing of Muhammad Usman Ankwai, Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly.
Ankwai passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at a hospital in Cairo, Egypt, where he had been undergoing treatment for a prolonged illness.
Malami extended his deepest sympathies to the family, government, and people of Kebbi State, describing the death of Ankwai as a significant loss not only to the state but to the nation.
He noted that the late Speaker was a dedicated public servant who contributed immensely to the growth of democratic governance and legislative development in Kebbi State.
In his message, Malami prayed that Almighty Allah forgives the shortcomings of Ankwai, grants him Aljannah Firdaus, and gives his family and loved ones the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
