Mama, you have taught me to never be as heartless and evil like you - Woman calls out her mother-in-law

A Kenyan woman, Nelly Nyuttu, has called out her mother-in-law, alleging that the woman has been a thorn in her flesh since she married her son.  In a Facebook post on Monday, March 9, 2026, Nelly said all efforts she made to win her mother-in-law over proved abortive as the woman is determined not to see anything good about her.  She also alleged that the woman had been entertaining another lady her son brought to her house.  Nelly added that she has decided to leave her husband so he would be with the woman her mother-in-law claims is better than her.  "My mother in law! You have failed me! You have crushed me! You have failed me as a woman who is also married, she wrote  Are you not a woman like me? I'm a bitter daughter in law because you have failed me as the mother of my husband. You love your son but you're failing this boy you sired. This boy who played pull with your boobs. This boy who you brought up with love and sacrifice. You are his mother, his first love, no woman comes before you. He listens to you, he follows your advice,but I'm a bitter mamaa. I have respected you because you're important to my husband and his happiness is important to me, but tell me mamma, couldn't you love me because I 'm his love, his happiness, his choice for a wife, the mother of his children? For years I could sense your dissatisfaction everytime you visited.  I have tried to win you over, to show you I'm not competing with you but am tired mamma, I am exhausted because it's a thankless effort! I came to you as a child, looking for comfort from her mother, a child who wanted your advice and intervention but you turned against me. You said your son is cheating because I am not giving him peace! That i am the problem. Mamma, what does peace look like? Is peace the late night phone calls he receives while he sleeps next to me? Is peace the weekend disappearances? Is peace the lack of intimacy in my bed? Is peace the lack of financial aid? Or it's the slaps I receive for questioning him?  Mamma you're a woman first but you're blind to my pain! Mamma, they told me he brought a girl home to you, they said you cooked a feast for her, I heard you told her to be a better woman than me! I heard you called me a failure. You told her you don't recognize me or my kids. They sent me videos as evidence. They didn't lie. Mamma you have failed me,you have failed your grandchildren, my heart is breaking but mama I am not a failure. I am enough mamma but you're blinded with your need to control your son. My mother in law, I 'm leaving your son to the woman you feel is enough for him, I will not insult you but I will tell you this, you should have learned from your own mother in law. She has treated you well but you have treated me like I'm not a woman like you. What tales will you sell your mother in law? I used to hear of inlaws from hell but I never knew I would meet one. Mamma, you have taught me to never be as heartless and evil like you.
