
Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the r@pe and m8rder of an 11-year-old girl, Divine Mbarga Atangana, in Cameroon. The body of the minor was discovered in Nkoabang, on the outskirts of Yaounde last week. According to local media, the young girl was reported missing on March 18, 2026, after leaving her grandmothers home following a disagreement. Her lifeless body was found the following day, March 19, in an uncompleted building in the neighbourhood, sparking shock and outrage among residents. Initial findings suggested that the minor had been subjected to r@pe before her d3ath as traces of sperm were found in her. The circumstances surrounding the case prompted calls for a thorough investigation and justice for the victim. A week after the discovery, the suspect, a father of three, is reportedly the parent of one of the victims classmates. He is said to be someone the girl knew and occasionally visited for school-related activities. The arrest marks a significant development in the case, which has deeply shaken the local community. Authorities are yet to release an official statement detailing the charges or the progress of the investigation.
