Lionel Messi has extended his record as the footballer with the most trophies after he inspired Inter Miami to a first-ever MLS Cup title.
The 38-year-old provided two assists as they defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 on Saturday.
It was the 46th title of Messi’s career and third with Miami.
The Argentine maestro had previously won the Leagues Cup in 2023 and Supporters’ Shield in 2024.
Inter Miami became the 16th franchise in the league’s 30-year history to win an MLS title.
For Messi, he has now lifted multiple trophies across club and international football.
He won 34 titles with Barcelona, three at Paris Saint-Germain, and crowned his career with the 2022 FIFA World Cup and multiple Copa América triumphs.
