Supporters of former Kaduda State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai on Tuesday stormed the premises of the Federal High Court in Kaduna.
DAILY POST reports that El-Rufai, who appeared at the court on Tuesday, is being arraigned by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, over alleged money laundering.
The arraignment follows mounting pressure from stakeholders, including the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Recall that the former governor has been kept in detention since his arrest on return to the country from Egypt.
While in ICPC custody, El-Rufai refused to respond to questions posed by investigators, citing his right to remain silent.
The former governor had filed a fundamental rights suit before the Federal High Court in Abuja over the search conducted on his residence by the ICPC and the remand order issued on February 19.
