The Nigerian currency, the naira, began the week with a slump against the American dollar at the official window on Monday.
At the official window, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) foreign exchange data showed that the naira closed at N1,349.23/$1, compared to N1,346.32/$1 on Friday.
This represents a loss of N2.91 for the local currency against the American dollar.
At the black market, the Nigerian currency lost N30 against the American dollar, trading at N1,365/$1, as against the previous rate of N1,335/$1.

The local currency lost N55 against the British Pound to trade at N1,905/£1 the same as the previous day’s rate of N1,850/£1.
The naira closed flat against the Canadian dollar to trade at N1,000/CA$1, the same as the previous day’s rate of N1,000/CA$1.
The naira lost N45 against the euro, trading at ₦1,680/€1, compared with the previous day’s ₦1,635/€1.
