Naira gains N1.24 against dollar at official window

The Nigerian currency, the naira, gained against the American dollar at the official window on Tuesday.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) foreign exchange data showed  that the naira closed at N1,487.36/$1, as against N1,488.60/$1 it traded on Monday.

This represents an appreciation of N1.24 for the local currency against the American greenback.

The naira gained N5 against the dollar to trade at N1,515/$1, as against the previous day’s rate of N1,520/$1.

It closed flat against the British Pound to trade at N2,090/£1.

The local currency also closed flat against the Canadian dollar to trade at N1,230/CA$1.

The naira, however,  lost N5 against the Euro to trade at ₦1,785/€1 as against the previous day’s rate of ₦1,790/€1.
