Naira gains N14.63 against dollar at official FX market

The Nigerian currency, the naira, appreciated further against the American dollar at the official window on Tuesday.

At the official window, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) foreign exchange data showed that the naira closed at N1,358.28/$1, compared to N1,372.91/$1 it traded on Tuesday.

This represents a gain of N14.63 for the local currency against the dollar.

At the black market, the naira lost N2 against the dollar, trading at N1,455/$1, as against the previous rate of N1,453/$1.

The local currency closed flat against the British Pound and Canadian dollar to trade at N2,000/£1 and N1,130/CA$1, respectively.

The naira gained N5 against the Euro to trade at ₦1,710/€1, as against the previous day’s rate of ₦1,715/€1.
