Naira gains N4.91 against dollar at official window

The Nigerian currency, the naira, gained N4.91 against the American dollar at the official window on Friday.

At the official window, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) foreign exchange data showed that the naira closed at N1,430.84/$1, compared to N1,435.84/$1 it traded on Wednesday.

At the black market, the local currency lost N8 against the American greenback, trading at N1,498/$1, as against the previous rate of N1,490/$1.

The naira also lost N35 against the British Pound to trade at N2,020/£1 as against the previous day’s rate of N1,985/£1.

It closed flat against the Canadian dollar to trade at N1,200/CA$1.

The naira gained N20 against the Euro to trade at ₦1,720/€1, as against the previous day’s rate of ₦1,740/€1.
