NAPTIP rescues 17 year old victim of s#x trafficking

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has received and taken custody of a 17-year-old Nigerian girl, an indigene of Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, in connection with a suspected case of human trafficking.  According to a statement released by the agency, the victim arrived in Nigeria on Sunday, April 26th at approximately 17:00 hours, accompanied by the Charge d'Affaires of the Nigerian Embassy in Monrovia, Ambassador Mrs. R.O Mohammed.Preliminary information indicates that the victim was deceived and trafficked to Abidjan, Cte d'Ivoire, for the purpose of sexu@l exploitation.
