The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, Adamu Ninga, has resigned from the party.
The chairman confirmed the news to journalists on Friday in Lafia.
The State Working Committee of PDP suspended the chairman for alleged gross misconduct on March 25.
Ninga told journalists he had written to the PDP Chairman of his ward, Agyaga Electoral Ward of Akwanga Local Government Area on his decision to leave the party.
He cited the strained relationship within the party and pressure from some persons to manipulate him to serve their selfish interests as reasons for leaving the party.
“I chose to resign due to an uncivil relationship with some party members who attempted to pressure me into breaking party rules.
“I feel that I should resign if my relationship with some group of persons is not cordial because I rather take the part of honour than a situation where people want to compel me to serve their individual interest,” Ninga added.

He promised to make public his next political destination.
“You know I’m a politician, I don’t have any other job to do other than politics. So I will let you know when I decide on the next line of action,” he stated.
