Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday stated that Israel and the United States were determined to end Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities.
The premier spoke on the third day of the aerial assault when he visited the site of an Iranian missile attack that killed nine people in Beit Shemesh.
He said the location was “bombarded by the terrorists in Tehran,” adding that “The tyrants of Tehran target civilians; we target the tyrants of Tehran to protect civilians.”
According to Netanyahu, the ongoing Operation Roaring Lion was launched to protect Israel and “protect many others” by thwarting “existential threats.”
Recalling his prediction that Europe would be targeted, he said: “They fired yesterday at a large part of the countries of the region.” Iran’s drone struck a British military base in Cyprus on Sunday.
Netanyahu rallied support for the military action against Iran, calling the Islamic Republic’s leadership a “terrorist regime of the kind we’ve never seen in the world.”
The prime minister warned that Tehran’s access to nuclear weapons and the means to deliver ballistic missiles and intercontinental ballistic missiles “will threaten all of humanity.”
Iran, meanwhile, is not backing down after the February 28 killing of its supreme leader Ali Khamenei and other top leaders on the first day of the US-Israel operation.
There have been attacks against territories across the region, including Bahrain, Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
