The new Commandant of the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Bala Bawa Bodinga, has warned criminals and economic saboteurs to steer clear of the state.

Bodinga, who officially resumed duty as the 15th substantive Kwara State Commandant on Monday, warned that the command under his watch will not tolerate acts of vandalism, destruction of critical national assets, illegal mining, pipeline vandalism, or any form of criminality.

Bodinga asserted that “Kwara State is not and will not be a safe haven for criminals. Those who choose to engage in vandalism or sabotage of government infrastructure will face the full weight of the law.

“We are fully prepared operationally and strategically to deal decisively with offenders,” he added.

His deployment to Kwara State was approved by the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, as part of ongoing strategic efforts to strengthen operational effectiveness across state commands.

Commandant Bodinga is a seasoned and highly accomplished officer who has held several key operational and administrative positions across the country.

He served as State Commandant in Kebbi, Jigawa, and Kano State Commands, where he provided strategic leadership and enhanced operational efficiency.

He also served as National Arm Commander, Special Forces, at the National Headquarters, Sauka, Abuja, demonstrating exceptional tactical competence and command capacity at the national level.

He further assured law-abiding residents of the state of the Corps’ unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property, protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, and strengthening intelligence driven operations.

Commandant Bodinga also pledged to deepen collaboration with sister security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders, and other critical stakeholders to enhance peace and security across the state.

The NSCDC command called on members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information that will aid in combating crime.
