Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, says Nigeria with over 200 million people, majority of whom are energetic, creative, and forward-looking youths with enormous potential in the area of agriculture, mineral resources, oil, tourism, and a positive climate, is destined to be great.
Saraki said this in his New Year message to Nigerians on Thursday.
He urged every Nigerian to avoid any drift towards issues that will threaten the unity of the country.
According to him, the current challenges confronting the country are temporary, adding that the nation shall overcome them in no time.
The former Kwara State governor asked Nigerians see 2026 as the year when to embrace discipline and tolerance for diverse viewpoints, and avoid fault lines, and generally adopt a positive attitude.
“There is no doubt that the best set of citizens any country can boast of are present in Nigeria – very determined, hardworking, focused, resilient, creative, and brilliant.
“I see 2026 as a positive turning point for Nigeria. May God protect all our security agents and grant them decisive victory over the agents of destruction,” he said.
