NGX: Beta Glass, Lasaco lead losers as investors shed N693bn

Investors in the Nigerian equities market lost N693 billion at the close of trading on Wednesday.

This followed the dip in the share prices of stocks such as Beta Glass, Lasaco, and E-Tranzact, among others, on the trading floor.

The benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) fell to 154,260.98 points from the 155,353.2 points recorded the previous day.

After five hours of trading at the capital market, the equity capitalisation decreased to N97.9 trillion from N98.6 trillion posted by the bourse on Tuesday.

The market breadth was negative with 20 stocks advancing, 46 stocks declining, and 80 stocks remaining unchanged in 27,654 deals.

An aggregate of 452,887,917 units of shares was traded, valued at N14.8bn

Deap Capital Management & Trust, Aso Savings & Loans, and Mc Nichols led other gainers with 9.70%, 8.86% and 6.67% growth each in share prices to close at N1.81, N0.86, and N3.20 from the previous N1.65, N0.79, and N3.00 per share.

Beta Glass, Lasaco, and E-Tranzact led other price decliners with a 10%, 10%, and 9.67% dip in share price to close at N437.40, N5.40, and N13.55 per share, down from the previous N486.00, N6.00, and N15.00 per share.

 On the volume index, Tantalizers led trading with 56 million shares in 96 deals, followed by Sovereign Trust Insurance, which traded 46 million shares in 482 deals.

Access Holding Plc traded 38 million shares in 1, 273 deals.

 On the value index, Guaranty Trust Holding traded stocks valued at N3.0 billion in 1,222 deals, followed by Aradel Holding, which traded equities worth N2.7 billion in 1,200 deals.

Zenith Bank Plc traded shares valued at N1 billion in 1,286 deals.
