This followed a surge in the share prices of stocks such as UACN, Zichis and Cap among others, on the trading floor.
The benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) increased to 237,205.59 points from the 228,740.19 points recorded on the previous day.
After five hours of trading on the capital market, equity capitalisation surged to N152.7 trillion from N147.2 trillion posted by the bourse on Tuesday.
The market breadth was positive, with 49 stocks advancing, 42 declining, and 57 remaining unchanged in 83,445 deals.
A total of 1,333,517,553 shares were traded, valued at N69 billion.
UACN, Zichis and Cap led the gainers’ chart, with 10% growth each in share prices, respectively, to close at N165.00, N19.80 and N132.00 per share, up from N150.00, N18.00, and N132.00 per share.
John Holt, Cadbury and E- Tranzact led other price decliners, with declines of 10%, 10%, and 9.97%, respectively, to close at N12.60, N66.15, and N15.80 per share, down from N14.00, N73.50, and N17.55 per share, respectively.
