NIgeria Customs announces new Authorised Economy Operator for trade

The Nigeria Customs Service has announced its migration from the fast track scheme to the Authorised Economic Operator.

The spokesperson of Customs, Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, saying the move is in line with global best practice.

Abdullahi, in the statement, said the fast-track scheme for trade facilitation in the country will be phased out from 31st December 2025.

He further urged traders to key into the new scheme, AEO, for trade facilitation.

“The current Fast Track Scheme will be officially decommissioned effective 31 December 2025.

“All beneficiaries currently enrolled in the Fast Track Scheme are mandated to initiate their migration to the AEO Compliance Programme”, the statement reads partly.
