The Nigerian Naira appreciated against the US dollar on Monday at the official foreign exchange market to begin on a good note.
The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira strengthened to N1,451.82 against the dollar on Monday, up from N1,454.41 on Friday last week.
This showed that the Naira gained N2.59 against the dollar on Monday compared to $1,454.41 recorded at the close of work Friday.
Meanwhile, at the black market, the Naira dipped slightly by N2 to N1493 per dollar on Monday, down from N1495.
The development comes amid the continued rise in the country’s foreign reserves, which stood at $45.47 billion as of December 12, 2025.
Last week, DAILY POST reports that the Naira appreciated only once against the dollar.
