The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has dismissed a fake press release circulating on social media, which falsely claims that the agency has announced a recruitment exercise.
In a statement shared via its official x handle on Tuesday, NAFDAC clarified that the purported release did not originate from the agency and should be disregarded.
“NAFDAC wishes to state clearly that the purported press release did not emanate from the agency and is entirely false,” the statement read.
The agency explained that while it periodically carries out recruitment exercises to employ qualified Nigerians, no such announcement has been made at this time.
NAFDAC cautioned members of the public against engaging with fraudulent recruitment information, warning that such false claims are often circulated to mislead and extort unsuspecting job seekers.
“For the avoidance of doubt, NAFDAC has not issued any press release or notice announcing a new recruitment exercise,” the agency stated.
It further emphasised that all authentic information from the agency is communicated exclusively through its official website and other verified communication channels.
NAFDAC urged the public to remain vigilant, ignore fake recruitment announcements, and always verify information directly from official NAFDAC platforms.
