The Taraba State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, has called on residents of the state to show utmost respect and reverence for Nigeria’s national symbols, emphasising their role in promoting unity, history, and national values.

The call was made in a statement issued on Tuesday by the State Director of the Agency, Mallam Zakari Muhammad, to mark National Ordinance Day, celebrated annually on September 16.

Muhammad highlighted the importance of the observance, noting that national symbols such as the National Flag, Coat of Arms, National Anthem, Currency, and International Passport are far more than official emblems.

“Today, September 16, 2025, Nigeria commemorates National Ordinance Day, a significant occasion to honour our national symbols,” he stated.

“These symbols remind us of our shared heritage and the sacrifices made by our forebears to build this great nation. As such, we must treat them with dignity and respect.”

He urged citizens across Taraba and beyond to reflect on the values represented by these national symbols and to promote a culture of patriotism, unity, and respect.

“As we celebrate this day, we call on all Nigerians to uphold the highest regard for our national symbols and participate actively in preserving their sanctity,” he concluded.
