The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Bauchi State Command, has deployed 1,100 personnel across the state to ensure the safety of lives and property during the 2025 Christmas and New Year festivities.
The State Commandant, Oloyede Oyerinde, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Saminu Yusuf, on Tuesday.
According to Oyerinde, the security arrangement comprises both covert and overt operations, including joint patrols of identified flashpoints, as well as the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure.
He said personnel would be strategically stationed at worship centres, motor parks, eateries, banks, hotels, and other public places across the state to prevent criminal activities throughout the festive period.
The Commandant directed Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and other operatives to remain diligent, focused, and professional in the discharge of their duties, while intensifying patrols and maintaining effective control of public spaces before, during, and after the celebrations.
“He emphasised the need for officers and men to be proactive and vigilant to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free festive season,” the statement said.
Oyerinde also advised residents to avoid actions capable of breaching public peace, urging them to promptly report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest NSCDC office for swift response.
He reassured residents of adequate security coverage, noting that the Corps is working in synergy with other security agencies to maintain law and order during the festive period.
The Commandant further extended Christmas and New Year goodwill messages to officers and men of the Corps, as well as residents of the state, reaffirming the NSCDC Bauchi State Command’s commitment to the protection of lives and property.
