
The management of Nigerian Tulip International College, NTIC, on Thursday honoured 61 outstanding members of its staff with Long Service Awards.
The institution also named Air Commodore Darlington Abdullahi (rtd) and Mrs. Mary Onyali respectively as its ambassadors.
The management states that the 61 awardees have dedicated more than 15 years of their lives to the development of NTIC, hence the need for recognition.
The event, which took place at NTIC Abuja Conference Hall, was attended by the Board of Members of NTIC, NTIC Parents, Delegates from the Ministry of Education, NTIC Alumni, and dignitaries from all works of life.
Managing Director of NTIC, Dr Fevzullah Bilgin, who addressed journalists at the event, described NTIC as a “well-established network of international schools organized for its strong commitment to character education, academic excellence, and holistic student development”.
He revealed that NTIC located in Lagos, Yobe, Kano, Kaduna and Abuja, “offers both the Nigerian curriculum, supported by robust foundation programmes that ensure strong academic grounding across all levels”.
According to him, over the past 28 years, the schools have built a solid institutional legacy rooted in quality, discipline and innovation, consistently recording outstanding national and international achievements in academic and competitive platforms.
“NTIC places high value on staff well-being and health, acknowledging the central role of human Capital in education quality, while continuously integrating cutting-edge technology and online learning platforms to enrich teaching and learning.
“Through this comprehensive approach, NTIC remains dedicated to developing principled, globally competitive learners prepared to thrive in an increasingly dynamic world”, he said.
Dr Bilgin further stated that, “Air Commodore Darlington Abdullahi and Mrs Mary Onyali have been chosen as NTIC Ambassadors due to their contributions to the development of our nation, Nigeria and this will set a focus for our students to be people of great impacts in their various endeavor and to always be the best version of themselves.
He further stated that “These staff who were given appointments letters more than 15 years ago, have all risen to various administrative staffs cadres in their various capacities in the school and proven to be committed to the development of NTIC and supporting in providing world-class education to the students “.
The awardees cut across all cadres from academic and non-academic staff, junior to senior management levels staff and they received mouth-watering appreciation gifts ranging from 13th month salary to giant electronic items and other home appliances in appreciation of their dedication and selfless service to NTIC.
The Managing director while addressing guests during his speech, mentioned that “NTIC is a school that gives room for growth and development and this is evident in the career progression that has taken place for the staff who have been in the system for a while.
Dr Muazu Omeji, the Human Resources Manager, who has spent 21 years at NTIC, said he joined NTIC as a Mathematics teacher he has risen different capacities in the school. He confirmed that NTIC is more than a workplace; it is a place of growth. Mrs Njepuome Margaret-Chris, while reflecting on her journey at NTIC, said it has been an eye-opening 22 year journey and has allowed her to grow. Mr Ugoala Uchenna Joseph said NTIC has been a growing platform for him since he joined 18 years ago
Also, Abdusalam Adeyemi Ahmed said he started as a Biology teacher 17 years ago, had the opportunity to serve in various administrative capacities, then to the Principal position at NTIC Kaduna, and now in Abuja as Head of Academics. NTIC is home away from home, he said. Mrs Oluwatoyin Kolawole Okotie, Secretary at NTIC Abuja Coed, who has spent 17 years confirmed that NTIC has strong family-oriented administration, and this has made many of them stay this long and there is room for support by the school.
In their remarks, the two ambassadors accepted to represent NTIC as an ambassador because of the school’s dedication to students’ growth and staff well-being.
Dr Fevzullah encouraged the staff of NTIC to stay committed to their duty post, as everyone will be rewarded in due course.
