An official date has been confirmed ahead of the Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury fight that many have been looking forward to.
Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are finally set to meet later this year after an agreement was reached for one of the most anticipated clashes in British boxing history.
The heavyweight rivals are expected to square off in November, with the blockbuster contest reportedly set to be broadcast on Netflix.
Before that showdown, Joshua will first return to action on July 25 in Riyadh, where he is scheduled to face Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga in a preparatory bout.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, celebrated the news, describing it as a landmark deal and one both camps had wanted for years.
Prenga enters the contest with an impressive record, suffering just one defeat in 21 fights, while 20 of his victories have come by knockout. Although he has not faced elite-level opposition, the bout is expected to help Joshua sharpen up ahead of Fury.
Joshua last fought in December, stopping social media star Jake Paul in Miami. He later stepped away from boxing after surviving a car crash in Nigeria that tragically claimed the lives of two close friends.
The former two-time world champion has since resumed training and has reportedly been working alongside former rival Oleksandr Usyk in Valencia.
His last major heavyweight contest came in 2024, when Daniel Dubois defeated him by stoppage in the fifth round.
Speaking on his return, Joshua said he had used the time away to rebuild physically and mentally, adding that he is ready to step back into the ring and continue where he left off.
Meanwhile, Fury reignited talk of the matchup after his April victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov, saying fans had waited long enough and it was time for the two stars to finally meet.
