Ogun govt sensitizes 2027 prospective retirees

Following the screening exercise and pre-retirement sensitisation programme for Ogun State Civil Servants under the Contributing Pension Scheme (CPS), the Bureau of State Pension, Office of Head of Service has organised another exercise for those who would be retiring statutorily from 1st January, 2027 to 31st December, 2027.

The sensitization program is to be held at the Oba’s Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital.

DAILY POST learnt that the exercise is to ensure accurate data and to facilitate the seamless remittance of their retirement benefits to the Retirement Savings Account (RSA) before exit from the Civil Service.

Speaking on Wednesday, the Director of Contributory Pensions Scheme in the Bureau, Mr Jide Macjob, informed participants that the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, had promised additional pension benefits which would be offered to the employees direct account as a bonus or extra benefit as retirement perks.

He added that intending retirees should be properly informed on the necessary steps to be taken to alleviate issues after retirement.

Similarly, officers from (Trust Fund), pension administrators, Mrs Bukola Julius and her counterpart Mr Atanda Nurudeen stated that necessary documents needed to process the retirement benefits includes acceptance of retirement letters, age declaration/birth certificate, NIN slip, accrued right letter, 2 white background photograph, BVN print out, last three months’ pay slip as well as a request letter.

Responding, two of the participants Mrs Oluwabukola and Mrs Iswat Lawal, appreciated the organisers for the stress free sensitization, promising to make good use of the information gathered at the exercise.
