Nigerian rap heavyweight Olamide, aka ‘Badoo,’ has opened up about a side of stardom fans rarely see—the nerves that hit him just before he steps on stage to perform.
In a candid chat with popular YouTuber Korty EO, the YBNL boss admitted that performing live still comes with a wave of anxiety, despite his years of experience and massive success in the industry.
According to Olamide, the tension isn’t random. It stems from a string of unsettling encounters he has faced while performing at shows over the years.
He recalled moments when overexcited fans suddenly breached his space, with some attempting to grab personal items like his chain or hat in the middle of performances.

“I get nervous every time I go on stage. I’ve had too many crazy experiences while performing. Someone from nowhere will just come and grab your chain or your hat, you don’t even know what to expect,” he said.
The rapper described these incidents as intense and unpredictable, noting that they have gradually shaped how he approaches live shows and interacts with crowds.
Even with his status as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated hitmakers, Olamide made it clear that those experiences have left a lasting impact, making him more cautious and mentally on edge each time he faces an audience.
