
A man whose identify has not been revealed has been hospitalised as a result of injuries he sustained during a fire incident in Kishi town.
DAILY POST reports that Kishi is one of the towns in Oke Ogun geopolitical zone in Oyo State.
The man was injured when a truck carrying rubber materials was gutted by fire.
Our correspondent reports that the incident occured Wednesday night.
Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande, confirmed the incident.
Akinwande said, “Upon arrival, it was Volvo truck registration unknown, loaded with rubber materials covered by intensive flames. The firemen swiftly got into action, launched an articulated attack and displayed a professional technical know how to rescue a male person.
“One man was rescued alive and conveyed to nearby hospital in Kishi. Fire service was able to save the nearby buildings and properties from imminent fire. The unfortunate incident was a result of sparks from the engine compartment of the truck while on motion.”
