The Osun State House of Assembly on Wednesday passed the state’s 2026 appropriation bill of N723 billion.
The budget, titled: “Osun State Appropriation Bill 2026,” was passed after a motion for its third reading was moved by the Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Saheed Fatunmise, during the plenary in Osogbo.
The committee’s report was adopted by the Assembly on Tuesday.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, said after the passage of the budget that clean copies would be forwarded to Governor Ademola Adeleke for his assent.
The approved budget was N18 billion higher than the N705 billion the governor presented to the Assembly for consideration on November 12.

The budget comprises recurrent expenditure of N317 billion, made up of personnel costs of N135 billion and overhead costs of N182 billion.
The sum of N388 billion was set aside as capital expenditure in the budget.
