The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says the performance of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the just concluded FCT Area Council election and Rivers State bye-election reflected growing public confidence in the policies and programmes of President Bola Tinubu
Wike said this on Sunday while reacting to the results of the polls, where the All Progressives Congress recorded significant victories.
He said that the party’s success, especially in remote communities within the FCT, signaled that government initiatives were beginning to impact lives at the grassroots.
According to him, this marks the first time the APC is securing councillorship seats in some of the hinterland areas, alongside what he describes as an overwhelming majority in the local council chairmanship positions.
The former Rivers state governor equally spoke on the result of the recent by-election in Rivers State.
He described the APC’s performance as a victory for what he calls a “rainbow coalition” of political stakeholders.
According to him, the alliance reflects a broader alignment of interests in support of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
“The results underscored shifting political dynamics and growing cross-party collaboration ahead of future electoral contests,” he said.
