PDP crisis: Disregarding Appeal Court advice will lead to destruction – Ememobong

The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ini Ememobong, had said that disregarding the advice of the Court of Appeal will amount to mutually assured destruction.

Ememobong stated this on Thursday on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’.

The Court of Appeal had upheld the judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which on October 31, 2025, restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, from recognizing the outcome of the 2025 National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The court also advised the party’s warring factions to seek reconciliation.

Reacting, the PDP spokesman said, “disregarding the Court of Appeal’s advice will amount to mutually assured destruction”.

“We will manage party members’ tendencies. Those who’ve openly said they’ll vote against PDP will have it as their individual stance, not a collective position.

“The reconciliation process principle is that nobody will impose a minority opinion on the majority. Many members know PDP is an opposition, not an All Progressives Congress, APC, appendage.

“I said that the judicialization of politics will lead to the politicization of the judiciary, and that immediately this happens, the stream of the judiciary will be contaminated by the flowing deaths of politics.”
