The Deputy National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Okey Osuoha, has slammed the party’s National Chairman, Iliya Damagum, accusing him of gross incompetence and leadership failure.
Osuoha made this statement on Saturday while responding to questions in an interview on Arise Television monitored by DAILY POST.
“This tenure of Ambassador Damagum is horrible, embarrassing and unfortunate. We are shooting ourselves in the leg.
“The court was clear that we must obey the rule of law, yet the chairman continues to act outside due process,” he stated.
He further advised that the ruling of the court, which restrained the planned national convention must be obeyed before any further action is taken.
Osuoha maintained that the court’s judgment was clear enough and placed the party under obligation to follow due process in line with the 1999 Constitution, the Electoral Act, and the PDP’s constitution before convening its national convention.
