The United States Department of Defense has confirmed the identities of four U.S. Army Reserve soldiers killed in an Iranian drone attack on an American military installation in Kuwait.

In a statement issued by the Pentagon, the fallen service members were named as:

Capt. Cody A. Khork, 35, of Winter Haven, Florida

Sgt. 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, 42, of Bellevue, Nebraska

Sgt. 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, 39, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota

Sgt. Declan J. Coady, 20, of West Des Moines, Iowa

All four soldiers were attached to the 103rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) of the U.S. Army Reserve, headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa.

The troops were killed on Sunday, March 1, 2026, when an Iranian unmanned aerial vehicle struck a U.S. military facility in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait.

The drone reportedly hit a temporary tactical operations centre, a fortified but lightly protected structure converted from modular trailers for command and administrative use.

The strike occurred shortly after the commencement of coordinated U.S.–Israeli military operations against Iran, intensifying tensions across the Gulf region.

Speaking on Monday, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the drone bypassed existing air-defence systems and struck the facility directly, with at least one projectile penetrating protective barriers.

He noted that there was no advance warning, leaving personnel with little opportunity to take cover.

Initial reports from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) had put the death toll at three. However, the figure was later revised to six fatalities after additional remains were recovered from the debris and one wounded service member died from injuries. The names of the two remaining victims have yet to be released.

The six deaths represent the only confirmed U.S. military fatalities since the outbreak of direct strikes on Iranian targets.

Defence officials also disclosed that at least 18 other American service members have sustained serious injuries in related incidents across the region.

Iran has since launched retaliatory drone and missile attacks on U.S. and allied installations in several Gulf states, including Kuwait.

While many of the incoming threats were intercepted, some managed to breach air defences.
