A plane has crashed in Mexico k!lling at least 10 people, including three children all under the age of 10. The children, believed to be members of the same family, were a boy aged four and two girls aged nine and two. Five adult passengers also did along with two pilots when the private plane smashed into a warehouse on an industrial estate near Mexicos Toluca Airport, around 12.30pm local time yesterday, Dec. 15. It is believed the pilot was attempting to land on a football field. Hundreds had to be evacuated from the surrounding area after the crash landing, after a fire erupted nearby. The accident took place in San Mateo Atenco, an industrial area three miles (5 kilometers) from the Toluca airport, about 31 miles (50 kilometers) west of Mexico City. The plane had taken off from Acapulco, along Mexicos Pacific coast. Initial local reports said six bodies had been found inside the wreckage of the plane before the confirmed de@th toll rose to 10. A probe into the accident is ongoing, with investigators said to be focusing on the theory an engine problem was to blame as the last conversation between the pilot and air traffic controllers emerged in which he could be heard saying: Were crashing. The ten people who did have already been fully or partly named. The pilot was identified locally as Juan Carlos Olivares Casas and his co-pilot as Walding Sanchez Manzano. The adult passengers k!lled have been name was Raul Gomez Ruiz, 60; Olga Janine Buenfil Cardone, 60; Gustavo Palomino Olet, 50; Ilse Lizeth Hernandez Tellez, 32; and Raul Gomez Buenfil, 31. The children who did have only been identified so far by their first names - Raul, four, Natalia, two, and Ximena, nine. San Mateo Atenco Mayor Ana Muiz told Milenio Television that the fire forced the evacuation of some 130 people in the area.
