Prominent Plateau religious leader, Rev Ezekiel Dachomo, has cried out over the incessant violent attacks and killing of his church members in Barkin Ladi local government area of the state by suspected Fulani militants.
The clergy man said he has been forced and subjected to burying his members every other day.
Rev Dachomo who is regional chairman for the Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN, in Barkin Ladi, raised the alarm on Wednesday, while conducting a mass burial for 13 people who were killed in another attack on Tuesday night in Rachas village of Heipang District and Rawuru village in Fan District, both in the council.
He said if the security agencies had listened to him when he raised an alarm over the potential attacks, the situation could have been averted.
According to Dachomo, he had informed security agencies after he received inside information that some Fulani militia were going to attack Nyerwai village in Barkin Ladi.
He said he had posted a video where he tagged the agencies hoping they would take immediate action but to his dismay, the Army released a statement where he was labeled a liar who was sharing false and misleading information meant to cause unnecessary alarm and panic.
While calling on authorities to always take proactive measures whenever such information is made available to them, Rev Dachomo decried a situation where he has to conduct burial for his church members who are daily mowed down by the terrorists.
‘Look at these young people that we have come to bury today. What crimes did they commit for them to be killed in this manner? I am tired of burying my members every day,” he cried out.
