Dreaded bandit leader Ado Aleru who has been linked to multiple kidnappings and killings of innocent people in Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi and Niger States, has begged for forgiveness and a genuine reconciliation.

The bandit leader who made the plea during a peace meeting organized by traditional rulers and residents of Faskari local government area of Katsina State on Sunday, pleaded with those whose relatives were killed or whose property was stolen by his gang to forgive them.

A trending video of the session which was shared on social media platforms on Tuesday, showed the bandit leader who spoke in Hausa, appealing to the people he has hurt or abused to let go of the past as he is willing to embrace peace.

“Since we started having peace meetings, people have never gathered in such large numbers like this. This meeting gives me hope that, Insha Allah, peace will be restored—not only in Faskari and Katsina State but across the entire country.

“So I am pleading for forgiveness. All the people whose relatives were killed or their properties taken from them, please forgive us,” Aleru said in the video.
