The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested five suspects in connection with the m8rder of a 38-year-old man, Samuel Ofiri in Otuoke community, Ogbia Local Government Area of the state.  The spokesperson of the command, DSP Musa Mohammed, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 said the deceased was t0rtured and brutally m8rdered by the suspects after being accused of r@ping a lady. According to the PPRO, the arrest followed a distress call about a lifeless male body found dumped along Kakatar Road, in Otuoke.  "On 22nd February, 2026, at about 1530 hours following a distress call, operatives of Kolo Divisional Headquarters mobilized to Kakatar Road, in Otuoke and found a lifeless male body, the statement read. "The corpse was recovered and deposited at Federal Medical Center Otuoke, Bayelsa State. "Upon sting operation by the operatives, five (5) suspects were arrested at Kakatar Road, Otuoke Community in connection with the d3ath of the victim namely, Stanley Inemugha, 'm' 21 years old from Otakeme Community, Ogbia L.G.A, Ipagaro Memidin 'm' 21 years old from Otakeme Community, Ogbia L.G.A, Kingsley Taribo 'm' 25 years old from Otakeme Community, Ogbia L.G.A, Boye Easter 'm' 22 years old from Otakeme Community, Ogbia L.G.A and Preye Timbiri 'm' 40 years old of Otuoke Community, Ogbia L.G.A, Bayelsa State. "Preliminary investigation reveals that the deceased was allegedly accused of r3ping a lady and was taken to an apartment in Kakatar Road, Otuoke Community and was tortured by the suspects, which led to the d3ath of Samuel Ofiri, 'm' 38 years old now (deceased) a native of Otuoke Community, Ogbia L.G.A, Bayelsa State.  "Suspects are currently undergoing investigation at the SCID and will be charge to court at the conclusion of investigation. "The Commissioner of Police warns members of the public against the practice of jungle justice and other forms of mob actions across the state.  Suspicious activities are advised to be reported at the nearest Police Station or call 07034578208/ 09167322691."   The post Police arrest five suspects over m8rder of man accused of r@ping woman in Bayelsa appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
