The Abia State Police Command says operatives of its Anti-Cultism Unit have apprehended some suspects for unlawful possession of arms.
According to the Police Command, the operation were carried out on 31/01/2026 and 11/02/2026 during which five locally made pistols, seven cartridges, one toy pistol, two yellow berets of a confraternity and a Maxmech furniture screw machine were recovered.
This development was made known by Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Maureen Chinaka in a statement on Saturday.
The statement named the suspects as Chima George, Chukwu Emeka Goodluck, Julius Emenike, Chika James, Richard Wisdom, Steven Chinsonso and Chinsonso Tom.
It said that the arrests were made through actionable intelligence, adding that the suspects would be charged to the court after ongoing investigations.
