Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers listed as wanted for their alleged involvement in multiple robbery operations across the state.
The suspects, identified as Kabiru Isah and Monday Bulus, were arrested by operatives of the command’s Anti-Robbery Section on January 10, 2026, following actionable intelligence.
In a statement, the Police spokesperson, SP Ramhan Nansel disclosed that the suspects were apprehended around Azuba Centre, a suburb of Lafia Local Government Area, where they had allegedly gone to plan another criminal operation.
Unknown to them, they had already been placed under close surveillance by security operatives.
Nansel stated that during the arrest, officers recovered a G3 rifle without a serial number from the suspects.
A subsequent follow-up operation carried out on Sunday, January 11, 2026, also led to the recovery of a pump-action rifle.
Nansel added that the arrests were the result of intelligence-led policing.
“Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives arrested two notorious armed robbery suspects who had been on the command’s wanted list for their involvement in several robbery operations across the state,” Nansel said.
He narrated that investigations revealed the suspects had entered Lafia with the intention of carrying out another robbery before they were intercepted by the police.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has commended the operatives for what he described as their professionalism and gallantry, while ordering a comprehensive investigation into the case.
The police boss also directed officers and men of the command to maintain sustained pressure on criminal elements and continue dealing decisively with crime across Nasarawa State.
The suspects, according to the police, will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
