Police recover 15 cows stolen by bandits in Zamfara attack

The Zamfara State Police Command has recovered 15 cows stolen by armed bandits during an attack on a community in Gusau Local Government Area.

Details of the operation were shared on X on Monday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to the post, the incident occurred around 1:30 am on February 15 when bandits invaded Gidan Kwagiri village in Damba District and seized cows and sheep belonging to residents.

Security sources quoted in the post said that, after receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Damba Division quickly mobilised officers, alongside patrol teams from the Department of Operations, to pursue the attackers.

The operatives were able to recover 15 of the stolen cows during the operation. The animals were subsequently returned to their owners.

Efforts are ongoing to track down the suspects and recover the remaining animals, while security patrols have been strengthened in the area to prevent further attacks.
