
Jigawa State Police Command, on Saturday, recovered a stolen motor vehicle in Hadejia Local Government.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the spokesman of the command, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam issued to newsmen.
According to the statement “On 02/12/2025 at about 0350hrs, a distress call was received reporting a case of criminal conspiracy, house trespass, and armed robbery at Gawuna Quarters, Hadejia LGA, during which a golden Toyota Corolla LE with reg. no. HJA-15 AP and phones were forcefully taken away by the suspected robbers”
He said upon receipt of the report, the team of policemen swiftly moved to the scene and launched a coordinated pursuit of the fleeing suspects.
He said the robbers abandoned the stolen vehicle and escaped into a nearby bush, thereby evading arrest.
Shiisu said the stolen vehicle was successfully recovered and has been taken into police custody for further investigation.
He said five cutlasses, a knife, two torch lights, and a turban belonging to the assailants were recovered in the vehicle.
Efforts to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects are being intensified.
The Jigawa State Police Command assured members of the public of its continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
The Command also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements or criminal activities to the nearest police formation.
