Police on Friday released the detained presidential candidate of the African Action Congress ( AAC) in the 2023 e look election, Omoyele Sowore.
The activist was detained on Wednesday after he honoured thr Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit’s invitation.
He was invited by the police over a petition send to the police by an unnamed person.
Sowore was released hours after his supporters protested against his detention in Lagos, Abuja and other parts of the country..

confirmed his release in a post on his Facebook page.
He described his detention as “illegal and unjust.”
Sowore wrote; “The Nigeria Police Force has capitulated to the demands of the revolutionary movement. I have been released from unjust, illegal and unwarranted detention.
“However, it is nothing to celebrate, but thank you for not giving up!”
