Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command on Thursday took over the case of a kidnapped victim, Abdullahi Usman, resident of Unguwan Abuja in Viniklang, a community in Girei Local Government Area near the capital, Yola, who was discovered tied up in the bush.
“The rescue followed a distress call received from one Adamu Shugaba, who timely reported hearing someone groaning inside an uncompleted building at Jabbore, Viniklang,” the command explained in a statement released on Friday evening by its Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje.
According to the statement, Shugaba found the victim tied with a piece of cloth on both hands and legs.
“Acting swiftly, the Command deployed the Divisional Police Officer, Viniklang, and a team of operatives to the scene. The victim was rescued unhurt and rushed to hospital for medical examination,” Nguroje stated.
He added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, commended the officers for their prompt response and directed the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the command to take over the case and ensure the arrest of the perpetrators.
