Real Madrid have released an official statement on Trent Alexander-Arnold's injury which he suffered in the UEFA Champions League game against Olympique Marseille.
The England international was substituted within the first five minutes of the game after he held his left leg, which saw him substituted for Dani Carvajal, who was later issued a red card.
The statement read,
"Following tests carried out today by Danithe Real Madrid Medical Services on our player, Trent Alexander-Arnold, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury to the biceps femoris in his left leg. Further updates will follow."
Dani Carvajal is expected to replace Trent but there is a possibility that he will be rotated. Players like Asencio or even Fede Valverde could now be Carvajal’s backup for that right-back spot until Trent comes back.
How long will Trent Alexander-Arnold be out for?
Real Madrid did not confirm how long Trent Alexander-Arnold will be unavailable. However, he could be out for a minimum of three weeks and a maximum of two to three months.
However, the good news fot Real Madrid is that they secured all three points starting their Champions League campaign with a victory courtesy of a brace from Kylian Mbappe.
