Registration with CAN or PFN does not reduce Brotherhood’s spiritual authority – Olumba Obu

The Holy Father of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, Olumba Olumba Obu, has said the organization has passed the level of being affiliated with any group.

Olumba made the assertion during activities marking the 2nd edition of the International Divine Vanguard Retreat 2026, at a press briefing held at Enerhen Pentecost Centre, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

He was represented at the briefing by Patriarch Christ Shepherd, CPCS Ogar Osim.

He said, “The level we are now, we have passed that level. We are no longer talking about church, Roman Catholic, Orthodox, or Pentecostal.”

Osim, who doubles as the Managing Director of StarCross Television and Head of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star Event Management, explained: “Our Lord Jesus Christ said it very clearly. After this manner, pray and say, ‘Our Father, Who Art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name, Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.’”

According to him, “That’s the level we are now. We are not expecting a church. Christ taught to pray and expect the kingdom, and as far as we are concerned, that kingdom has come. So it is the Orthodox who should advance to join the kingdom. It is not the kingdom that should now be going to join Pentecostal.

“So, the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is the sum total of everything created by God. All the churches you see, they’re part of the brotherhood.”

He said if the government insists that organizations which pray in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ must register with the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) or the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to operate, the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star would comply as a law-abiding organization.

“But that registration is only to fulfill human purposes, human interests. Just like Christ said, ‘Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.’”

However, he added, “That registration or affiliation with either CAN does not in any way equate to the spiritual authority that runs the brotherhood, because the spiritual authority is God. And everything, including the government, is under God.

“In case tomorrow, when the Pentecostals are doing something, you see Brotherhood there, don’t say they are part of it. Why are they there? No! We are there because circumstances demand that we should be there.

‘’It does not mean that our affiliation in any way reduces the spiritual disposition of the brotherhood as a Kingdom of God, as the sum total of every system, every system and organization.”
