Former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has called on President Bola Tinubu to order the release of the international passport of ex-Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
Sowore described the attempted arrest of the ex-Kaduna State governor as a show of shame.
He said the move by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, should be condemned.
Operatives of EFCC had attempted to arrest El-Rufai at the airport upon his arrival to Nigeria from Cairo in Egypt.
Reacting, Sowore stressed that the EFCC’s action was a displayed of unprofessionalism which is regrettable.
Posting on Facebook, he wrote: “Crying shame, Tinubu must release @elrufai’s passport now.
“The harassment of the former Kaduna State Governo, Nasir El-Rufai at the airport today is thoroughly condemned, and the display of such unprofessionalism by security agents is regrettable. It was show of shame.”
