Former Mayor of Blanco, Texas, in the United States, Mike Arnold, has blasted Nigeria’s security failures in curtailing insecurity in the country, declaring that terrorists hiding in the forests and those operating within the Aso Presidential Villa and their sympathisers must be removed from the surface of the earth without mercy.
Arnold who is also the founder of Arise International who made the blisteringly castigation in a post on X on Wednesday, stressed that Nigeria’s battle against terrorism is futile as long as powerful insiders shield or collaborate with terrorist groups.
“Terrorists should be hunted down and removed from the earth without mercy. That includes their supporters, wherever they may be from the villages to the Villa. They and their ideology are a cancer on human civilization,” the ex-Mayor wrote.
He went on to accuse the President Bola Tinubu-led administration of prioritising the welfare of “bloodthirsty terrorists” over the well-being of millions of Nigerians displaced by violent extremism across the country.
Arnold also criticised what he described as the government’s “consistent pattern of empathy and resources channeled toward violent groups, while victims of insurgency remain abandoned in overcrowded internally displaced persons’ camps.”
