Gunmen suspected to be bandits have attacked some communities in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State and killed a number of people.
They also abducted several others and set buildings, including a police station in one of the communities ablaze in the attack that took place between Friday night and early morning on Saturday.

The affected communities include Tunga-Makeri, Paso, Pissa and Konsoko, among others.
The Spokesman for the Niger State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident to journalists in Minna.
He said a joint security team had been deployed to the area to assess the situation.
Abiodun said: “On 14/2/2026 at about 6:00 a.m., a report was received indicating that at about 3:00 a.m., suspected bandits invaded Tunga-Makeri village via Shafachi district, Borgu LGA. During the attack, six people lost their lives.
“The hoodlums also set houses ablaze, while a number of persons were abducted in the attack.
“However, details of the incident are still sketchy.”
